Ann’s Health Food Store and Cafe is an exciting option for those of us wanting a quick place to get a high quality meal south of Dallas. They serve Niman Ranch meats, which means they are humanely raised, not given added hormones or antibiotics, and feed all vegetarian feed. Vegetarians and meat lovers alike can put together a lovely meal consisting of a salad, sandwich, wrap, or burger. They also serve a soup of the day and have daily specials. The day I was there, the special was a tuna salad sandwich with chips. Now I don’t know about you, but I can be kind of hard to please when it comes to tuna or chicken salad. This sandwich did the trick!

Tuna Salad Sandwich and Aged Cheddar Puffs

The tuna salad is mixed with parsley and is topped with cucumbers, red onion, lettuce, and tomatoes all on between two perfectly chosen slices of bread. I will be getting this again for sure.

The chip that most perfectly pairs with tuna salad is some version of the cheese puff. I’m so glad to have a healthier option now in these Pirate’s Booty Aged White Cheddar puffs.

Next time you are in the mood for a quick meal made of high quality ingredients (wayyyy better than fast food) south of Dallas and it’s before 6:30pm, stop on in and try the special of the day. The place is a little out of the way on Hwy 77, but better ingredients are worth the drive! Your body will thank you.
