Ice cream is truly one of the great things in life. When it comes in the form of less calories, a few added health benefits, and better for the lactose intolerant…we call it frozen yogurt.

Red Mango has been on my mind for awhile now, as I’ve read that it has better quality ingredients (only 14 total by the way) than some other brands. I’m thinking that the only better option would be to choose Whole Foods frozen yogurt, which I think has only 5 ingredients.

I’m not a fan of the more artificial tasting flavors. How do you know the difference you ask? It’s when the chocolate is an unnaturally dark color that looks like there may be no real milk chocolate qualities to it whatsoever. Tip for those of you wanting chocolate frozen yogurt in Waxahachie, skip Merry Toppins (sorry Toppins, you are good but your chocolate frozen yogurt is shamefully bad) and go to Braums.

Being an ice cream purist, I often struggle with whether or not to pile toppings onto the silky, smooth, creamy deliciousness. But after hearing what Kristin (sister #3) was going to put on hers, I knew I’d look down on my barren yogurt and be sad if I didn’t.

Pomegranate yogurt with pineapple, coconut, and peanuts

Blueberries, almonds, and pomegranate frozen yogurt may be one of my new favorite taste combinations. The pomegranate was a good mix of sweet and slightly tart (swaying more to the sweet side) and I would think that lots of different taste buds would find this tasty. I bet pineapple would also be good, but darn it, that’s one of the fruits that have to be on my “remember-to-limit-because-I-don’t-want-to-go-into-anaphylactic-shock” list. Stupid relatively new mild food allergies, you are definitely cramping my style.
