It’s here! Hummingbird cake is the dessert of the day at B’s Texican (on 287 between Waxahachie and Midlothian) so get it before it’s gone. The decadent cream cheese icing makes this dessert hard to resist. With the limited number of bakeries in the area, desserts like this are hard to come by. It’s nice to know that you can grab a burger and a bakery-quality dessert all in one place.

I grabbed a piece to go while at lunch today and am looking forward to savoring each bite in front of the TV later.

If you’re looking for burger ideas, Danny and I chose two very messy ones today: Texican Burger and Trial-by-Fire.

My favorite is still the Blue Smoke burger with tons of gorgonzola cheese, but the Texican was deliciously sloppy thanks to the guacamole and queso.

Speaking of their queso, it is worth going in to try even if you’re not really hungry. I’m positive that it’s some of the best queso out there.

B’s feels pretty confident that you’ll like it as well and they have a coupon for a free order of their White Queso with Roasted Poblano Chiles ($6 value). Don’t forget to browse around Taste of Waxahachie and Ellis County’s online magazine while you’re grabbing your coupon. Pay special attention to their write ups on Tuscan Slice and Ann’s Health Food…yep, that’s me!

B’s Texican is known for their commitment to higher quality ingredients and it sure shows in their fantastic daily specials.  By the way, you MUST try their fajitas if it’s on special the next time you are there.  You might be thinking, “How could fajitas be spectacularly good?”  But oh, they CAN!.  This is the most tender, sweetest fajita chicken I’ve had in awhile.  And they give you a TON of it.

What to Order:

1.  Hummingbird Cake – Act fast!  When it’s gone, it’s gone til next time.

2.  Blue Smoke Burger

3.  White Queso and Roasted Poblano Chiles – and there’s even a free coupon!
